Leg thread veins, commonly known as spider veins, are small, visible blood vessels situated just beneath the skin's surface. They often develop due to factors such as genetics, hormonal changes, pregnancy, or prolonged periods of standing. While they are harmless, many individuals seek treatment for cosmetic reasons, especially when these veins become prominent on areas like the legs.
It’s important to note that varicose veins may require surgical intervention, which we do not provide.

Results from sclerotherapy can typically be observed about four weeks after treatment. Depending on the area being treated and your individual response, you may require up to three sessions. Many patients notice gradual improvement as the treated veins begin to fade over four to six weeks, with full results developing over several months. While some individuals may achieve their desired outcome in a single session, others might benefit from additional treatments.
Once a vein is treated, it will not return; however, new veins may form over time. To maintain clear, even-toned skin, occasional maintenance sessions, along with healthy lifestyle choices, are recommended.

The sclerotherapy procedure is performed in our clinic without the need for anaesthesia. We use very small needles, and while the solution may cause a slight stinging sensation, it is generally not painful, and most patients find the experience comfortable.

After the procedure, the veins may turn a red or brown colour, which can last between 6 to 8 weeks. This appearance will fade as the vessels are metabolised. Following your sclerotherapy treatment, we recommend the following aftercare:
Stay mobile and avoid long periods of immobility.
Wear compression stockings as advised.
Avoid hot baths, saunas, and steam rooms for 24 hours post-treatment.
Refrain from strenuous exercise and alcohol for two weeks, as vigorous leg activity can impact the results.
Sun protection is crucial to support healing and maintain the benefits of the treatment.
